Welcome to Sherrington House Nursing Home. We provide services that allow our ladies and gentlemen an enjoyable life with maximum independence and dignity in safe and comfortable surroundings. This is achieved by providing the appropriate degree of care and support necessary to meet the individual needs of each person.
We believe the individual care matched with a happy, homely environment encourages a fulfilled healthy life and we offer lounge and dining areas on all floors, a reading room and a conservatory on the top floor.
At Sherrington House we aim to provide care which is tailored to the needs of each and every person who lives with us. We will always do our best to make sure that every individual is cared for with dignity and respect. We will encourage and support people to make choices and decisions for themselves so that they remain in charge of their lives. I believe it is important that peoples’ rights are protected at all times and that the home and our staff are the protectors of safety and rights for residents.

Visiting Hours
We are open 7 Days a week from 9.30am – 8.00pm*. Latest arrival by 7.00pm. Please book in advance & arrive promptly.
*Excluding Protected Mealtimes
Mealtimes: 8.30am – 9.30am 12.30pm – 1.30pm • 4.30pm – 6.00pm
Any variation to these times is by arrangement with the registered manager.
Championing Quality Living at Sherrington House Nursing Home
The accommodation consists of furnished single and double rooms, most with en-suite facilities, a nurse call system in operation TV and telephone points in each room ( private phone numbers can be arranged on request). Assisted shower and bath facilities.
We offer lounge and dining areas on all floors, a reading room and a conservatory on the top floor.
Outside we have parking to the front and a courtyard to the rear of the house.
We specialise in younger adults with neurological illnesses i.e MS, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, Motor Neurones.

Our concern is to provide facilities for non-institutionalised care to provide a caring and professionally administered home with privacy and confidentiality respected at all times, though a homely happy atmosphere coupled with dignity and understanding.

Our Care Home Activities
Activities are many and varied in our Aegis Residential Care homes. We arrange client meetings once a month to discuss all aspects of life within both homes and their input is always valued and taken into account. Therefore the entertainment changes regularly.
Regular outings covering many interests are also arranged and family members and friends are always welcome; as they are on all of our activities. The more the merrier!

- Relaxing outside in the garden and/or courtyard

For momentous occasions throughout the year such as birthdays, Christmas, Royal Celebrations and major sporting events, we always arrange something special and memorable for our clients.

Residents at Aegis enjoy a diverse menu of nutritious home-cooked meals, prepared fresh daily by our talented on-site chefs. We prioritise fresh, seasonal produce, sourced from reputable local suppliers to guarantee both quality and flavour. This focus supports a healthy and varied diet for all our residents.
We love to make dining a truly personalised experience. Our chefs are delighted to incorporate popular resident recipes, adding a touch of home to our menus. Throughout the day, residents have access to a variety of refreshing drinks, homemade cakes, and biscuits.
We warmly welcome all menu suggestions and are always happy to cater to special dietary requirements, ensuring every resident’s needs are met with care and attention.

I cannot thank the guys enough for the love, care and attention they gave my nan. The team are considerate, caring, respectful and kind. All the staff treated my nan with dignity and respect and as a relative they were always on hand for any questions or issues. Fully recommend this setting.
